전시 <근심없는 골짜기>는 메스매스가 주최한 첫 행사인 ‘무수골 사생대회’ 참가자들의 작품을 선보이는 자리입니다. 본 전시는 관객과 운영진의 심사를 통해 수상자를 선정하며, 메스매스와 연계한 다양한 특전을 제공하는 방식으로 기존의 오픈콜을 대체합니다. 전시 제목 ‘근심없는 골짜기’는 사생대회 장소였던 ‘무수골’의 순우리말 뜻에서 가져왔습니다.
참여자들은 고요하고 다채로운 풍경 속에서 저마다의 시선으로 포착한 장면들을 각자의 방식으로 담아냈습니다. 실제 풍경을 묘사하는 데 그치지 않고, 다양한 매체를 활용하여 작가 고유의 작업 맥락을 이어가는 동시에 새로운 가능성을 탐색합니다. 나아가 본 전시는 참여자간의 소통과 교류를 활성화하고, 일방향의 공모전 형식에서 벗어나 유희적이고 관계지향적인 방식을 제안합니다.

<눈의 모험 - Visual Journey>는 김혜리, 유혜선, 이수빈, 이지연, 이진아 5명의 작가들이 함께하는 그룹전이다. ‘눈의 모험'은 관객의 시선이 작품들 사이를 이동하는 경로이자, 각 작가가 고유한 시각언어를 구축해가는 과정을 의미한다. 디지털 스크린을 통해 이미지가 넘쳐나는 시대에 회화는 어떤 의미를 지니는가? 이 전시는 그 질문에 대한 다섯 가지 대답을 제시한다.
회화는 시선을 멈추게 하고, 머물게 하며, 깊이 들여다보게 하는 매체임을, 그리고 그 과정 자체가 하나의 모험임을 보여준다.
